Ferns & Whittlings

After too many months secretly whittling away between other whittlings, I'm proud to show off a pendant I made for my friend Jenny, who's birthday came and went...but better late than never!
In between starting and finishing this piece I travelled to London, skilling up with engraving classes (amongst other useful techniques), which is how I achieve the detail on the leaves.
With many thanks to Vicky Forrester and all the lovely ladies at Flux Jewellery School for sharing their knowledge with me.

I went with a New Zealand fern theme for this design (Jenny is a Kiwi). Choosing a transparent Opal to reveal the Maori detail in the back of the bezel. I'm glad to say it suits her!
